Dr. Yiwen Bu specializes in concrete material science and technology. She has special expertise in durability assessment and service life modeling of concrete, concrete proportioning and construction practices allowing for mitigating risks of cracking and corrosion of concrete, implementation of thermal control protocols and other practices enhancing service life of structures and pavements. She is responsible for the design, review, and preconstruction evaluation of concrete, preparation of quality control and crack-mitigation plans for concrete pavement projects, engineering support, and overseeing the implementation of thermal control for mass concrete placements.
