The Forum Renovation
Built in 1968 and designed by Charles Luckman (who also designed Madison Square Garden), The Forum is one of LA’s largest concert venues, and has been home to several sports teams.The $70 million Forum Renovation project in 2013 consisted of selective demolition, and installation of new tenant improvements and site improvements to the existing building and surrounding areas. Activities included renovation of ceiling and structural/non-structural walls; retrofitting restrooms and other public spaces for ADA; MEP upgrades, including roof/exhaust fan refurbishment and replacement; retrofit and upgrades to roof; installation of two new elevators and retrofit of the existing freight elevator; waterproofing; parking lot and site renovations and upgrades; installation of specialty coatings; structural retrofit and upgrade to existing roof structure and tension grid system; and new concrete work.Serving as the testing and inspection firm on the Gafcon team, Twining provided materials testing and deputy inspection, as well as geotechnical and waterproofing testing and inspection services.
