El Rodeo Seismic Retrofit and Modernization
The Beverly Hills Unified School District (BHUSD) consists of two TK-5 elementary schools, one 6-8 middle school, and one 9-12 high school. The TK-12 enrollment is approximately 3,450 students. This district currently employs over 300 staff and has been recognized nationally as a leader in education.
BHUSD is performing a seismic retrofit and modernization of El Rodeo Elementary School Buildings A, B, C, D, and E, with alterations and conversion of the Building E basement to house administration offices and support space. Additional scope of work will include construction of two new shade structures, one new covered walkway, and replacement/reconstruction of a new dome structure.
Twining is providing special inspection and materials testing of reinforced concrete, shotcrete, reinforced masonry, fiber reinforced polymer, structural steel, epoxy dowels, wedge anchors, and embeds. Work is being performed in accordance with DSA standards. The construction duration is expected to last 36 months.
